Dr. Pankti always wanted to be a doctor growing up, and she ultimately chose dentistry for a few reasons. Firstly, she was drawn to it because it combines two things that she loves—art and science. She also liked that dentistry would allow her to dedicate plenty of time to her patients as well as her family, enabling her to be a great doctor, wife, mother, and daughter all at once.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Pankti received her first dental degree from the MGV Dental College in India. After moving to the U.S., she graduated from the NYU College of Dentistry. While there, she was invited to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society that only accepts the most accomplished students. She went on to join the U.S. Army Reserves, where she still serves today as both a Captain and dentist.

Even though she is out of school, Dr. Pankti’s education has never truly stopped. She takes courses through the prestigious Kois Center, and she also has certifications in nitrous oxide, Invisalign, CPR, and sleep dentistry.

On top of this, she is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Texas Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine

Dr. Pankti and her husband, Jwalant (a physician’s assistant), have two young children, a son and daughter. Her favorite thing to do outside of the dental office, other than spend time with family, is dance. She has studied and knows many different forms, including Indian classical dance. Her son is also a bit of a foodie, so he has motivated her to cook more and learn about new dishes. To relax, she likes to play volleyball or shop.
